This Turkey farm was trucking in water for the first two weeks of each new flock because the young birds couldn’t tolerate the water. High sulphates and hardness were causing real issues. The mechanical room was so cluttered that it was nearly impossible to work on the system or to see any problems .
We installed a Reverse Osmosis system capable of producing more than 20,000 litres per day and have reduced the solids in the water from over 2200 ppm to less than 30 ppm. We were able to operate this system without the need for softening the water, due to using a special process. We reduced the clutter in the room making for a much simpler system and the ability to follow the water flow through the room. The end result is a much higher quality water with less chemical treatment and reduced operating expenses.
The only thing left to do is enjoy better production results with less operating costs.
